Pope Angers Muslims with Quote
Pope Benedict XVI, after being really really careful to say “quote,” in his speech at a German University, quoted Emperor Manual II Paleogos of 14th Century Byzantine when the Emperor said:
”Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
According to the BBC, the Pope was really careful about making sure everyone knew he was just quoting.
The Muslim reaction? “Aaaa-lalalalalalalalala!”
