Apparently I’m the Saturday go-to guy when it comes to Community Columnists.  Today my latest article “Wisconsin and Gay Marriage” was published.

There were a couple of edits that I noticed, the most notable of which was that they took out my nickname for Peg Lautenschlager (”Good Times”).  Oh well, it was all in good fun.

Here’s an excerpt:

Lautenschlager was pandering to the moderate voters who might only be against same-sex marriage while supporting all other rights for same-sex couples.

Those are the voters who will vote “no” even if they support the amendment, based on the possibility that the courts will use it to ban other privileges.

The problem is that Lautenschlager’s explanation leaves the possibility that any law, and this amendment, could start growing teeth, beating baby seals and banning gay rights.
