If you’re a black man in the United States, you might get to say a lot of racist things with a free pass from the media, but if you’re against gay marriage, then you’re going down!
Superbowl-winning coach Tony Dungy, who wrongfully robbed the Chicago Bears’ also-black Lovie Smith of a title, but rightfully proclaimed from the champion’s balcony that he was a Christian first and black a distant second, supported a marriage-protection law in Illinois.
What?!  Liberals can’t have that!
Said Emil Steiner of the Washington Post:
Though Dungy’s position may not constitute …

This week’s newest South Park had some funny/interesting/insane things that I think are worth mentioning here.

The whole show was a spoof on “24,” in which Cartman essentially turns into Jack Bauer and gets suspicious of a new Muslim student.  After assuming that there will be a bomb in play for Hillary Clinton’s visit to South Park, it turns out there actually is a bomb…in Hillary Clinton’s theoretically existant vagina.
Writing that last sentence made me a little sick inside.
There were a few interesting tidbits about the way they portrayed Hillary on …

By now, you all get the reason behind White History Month.  Blah, blah, Dan, we all know you don’t like the idea behind Black History Month.  But I’m determined to finish it.
So far, we’ve had:

Alexander the Great
Sir Isaac Newton
Benjamin Franklin
Aaron Robertson (our guy at BPN)

Since March is sort of a five-week month, I get to name 5 white people as great whites in history.  But I thought of two this week and I can’t exclude either one of them.  So instead of having two people (that’s just a copout; I hate …

I wonder what you regular readers (or even stragglers) would think about a weekly BipolarNation.com podcast, just a little 15 minute or so mp3 file that I could publish here every week where you can hear me actually speak about some of the stuff that’s been going on.

You might say “hmm, why would you need that when you already have a blog?” There are a few reasons:
-I want to get better with my voice and speaking for people.
-People can get BPN content and listen to it at work.
-More content …

Yep, the National Organization for Bra-burners endorsed Hillary Clinton for President.  What’s next?  Ebony will endorse Barack Obama, Vietnam veterans will endorse John McCain, and BipolarNation.com will endorse Sanjaya from American Idol.

A vote almost straight down party lines saw a 50-48 (two were missing…I’m looking at you, Rhode Island) show of support for a Iraq pullout that has a deadline of next March.
Republican attempts to scuttle the non-binding timeline failed on a vote of 50-48, largely along party lines.
The roll call marked the Senate’s most forceful challenge to date of the administration’s handling of a war that has claimed the lives of more than 3,200 U.S. troops.
Independent Joe “Swings Both Ways” Liebermann voted with Republicans, but it wasn’t enough.
John McCain said …

Scientists are trying to get pizza to be a health food:
University of Maryland food chemists said on Monday they had found ways to enhance the antioxidant content of whole-grain wheat pizza dough by baking it longer at higher temperatures and giving the dough lots of time to rise.
Sometimes scientists can completely miss the point. I used to wonder how scientists thought that water was necessary for life to exist (can’t there be rock people?).
I might have been wrong, but turning pizza into a health food will mean deriving it of …

If you didn’t watch Fox News last night, you might not have heard that Sean Penn has reached new heights of wacko-ness.  In addition for asking whether or not President Bush’s daughters were in support of the war (according to Penn, if they were, how dare they not be in uniform – he said this), the wrinkly forehead actor had this to say:
“The money that’s spent on this war would be better spent on building levees in New Orleans and health care in Africa and care for our veterans. Iraq …

Thanks to Medicaid (or lack thereof), it looks like college students will have to pay more for birth control:
Millions of college students are suddenly facing sharply higher prices for birth control, prompting concerns among health officials that some will shift to less preferred contraceptives or stop using them altogether.
YEP.  College kids are idiots, and that’s totally what will happen.  Babies having babies because pills cost ten bucks more.
Prices for oral contraceptives, or birth control pills, are doubling and tripling at student health centers, the result of a complex change in …

John and Elizabeth Edwards have been answering some questions about their decision to keep running for President (the way it sounds, it’s like Elizabeth is running with him…our next President could be JohnandLiz Edwards).  One question that sticks out to me is:  are you blowing your cancer out of proportion to get sympathy?
“There’s not a single person in America that should vote for me because Elizabeth has cancer. Not a one,” he said. Voting out of compassion for his family “would be an enormous mistake,” he added.
A Democrat finally concedes …
