Celebrating White History Month

It’s March 1st, and that means Black History Month is officially over. Black people all over the U.S. shared some laughs, some tears, and ultimately found pride in their rich cultural heritage.

And now it’s our turn. I’m proud of being white. Feel the pasty goodness.

Throughout history, my white ancestors have accomplished much, inventing just about everything except peanut butter, walking on the moon, and painting masterpieces. Although my have been enslaved, time and again, we’ve persevered, and ultimately, came out better for it.

This week’s edition of White History Month is Alexander the Great. Perhaps the greatest military commander of all time (his biggest competitor, Napoleon Bonaparte? Also white!), Alexander the Great studied with Aristotle, conquered Persia and ultimately had a movie featured about him. With lots of proud, pasty white people in it.

Alexander, from one white person to another, you’ve taught me to be proud of my white heritage. Thank you for showing what white men are capable of if they inherit armies from their dad. Speaking of which, inheritance is another great hallmark of white culture. But that’s a story for another week in…

White History Month!
