Taha Yassin Ramadan, a former vice-president under Saddam Hussein, was hanged before dawn on Tuesday for his involvement in the killings of 148 Shiites back in 1982 following an attempt on Hussein’s life. This was the same charge that sent Hussein to the gallows as well.
