A Possible World War III Scenario

12 September 2007 No Comment

It’s been in our collective unconscious for quite a while now: World War III will be a battle between East and West.

First, America is already planning for bombing Iran. While the last thing we want is a crazy leader who’s hostile to the West with nuclear weapons (hence we bomb him), it oddly requires an escalation in action to take care of them.

Add to this the fact that tensions are rising between the U.S. and Iran every day. As we speak, troops from the UK are being sent to the Iranian border (presumably with Iraq) while the U.S. is worrying about a “proxy war.”

Add to this the fact that Israel has spotted nuclear facilities in Syria, and believes that North Korea is supplying both Iran and Syria with nuclear materials. Also, Iran is supporting the Iraqi insurgents against the U.S., meaning there is indeed a coalition already formed against the West.

New York City radio show host Steve Malzberg said “If we’re hit again with a dirty bomb, we should immediately tactically nuke Tehran and Damascus.”

Add to all of THIS a quote from Camille Paglia:

And of course Iraq needs to remain neutralized when American or Israeli bombs start dropping on Iran, which I have little doubt they will do by next year. Bush-Cheney, lacking a clear record of achievement, want to go out with a bang.

What’s the sum?  None of us really know, but a lot of the news stories I saw today seem to be pointing toward more war.
