Ann Coulter’s Latest Controversial Comments
Ann Coulter’s latest controversial comments, which will probably help her career if anything, took place on CNBC’s “The Big Idea” with Donny Deutsch, which sounds interestingly similar to “douche.”
Somehow, Ann and Donny got into a discussion about religion, at which it was pointed out that Deutsch is a Jew. As far as I’ve seen, Coulter was talking about how it would be a lot better for people if more people were Christians, and that Christians view themselves as perfected Jews.
Here is what apparently was said:
COULTER: No, we think — we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.
DEUTSCH: Wow, you didn’t really say that, did you?
COULTER: Yes. That is what Christianity is. We believe the Old Testament, but ours is more like Federal Express. You have to obey laws. We know we’re all sinners —
DEUTSCH: In my old days, I would have argued — when you say something absurd like that, there’s no –
COULTER: What’s absurd?
DEUTSCH: Jews are going to be perfected. I’m going to go off and try to perfect myself –
COULTER: Well, that’s what the New Testament says.
This became “Ann Coulter: Jews must be perfected!” on this morning’s Today Show caption. The only thing missing was a graphic of Ann’s picture in front of a Nazi flag with little flames coming up. Meredith Viera and Deutsch then talked about how all these controversial comments do is help her business model…completely missing the irony that they were doing exactly that.
It would do anti-Coulters and anti-Limbaughs a bigger service to just completely ignore them. This could actually be easy, since they get taken out of context (except Coulter’s “kill their leaders and conver them to Christianity,” although I still ask, has anyone even read that whole column?) all the time.
