Letting Other People Choose Your Words? That’s Gay
A lot of people use the word “gay” without actually meaning “homosexual.” In my free time, I substitute “gay” for a lot of words, and it’s been a really convenient way of expressing disapproval for something.
For me, “gay” naturally has a connotation of wimpiness, hypersensitivity, and femininity, but people can use it in other ways: something that’s “gay” might be bad, unpleasant, or violent against nature.
The word “gay” is used so much that it might be time to revise its meaning. Remember that it used to mean simply “happy,” as the phrase “be happy and gay” would have been redundant. Nowadays, it’s used as just the opposite by people inside the two American coasts.
So what is the true meaning of it? It’s hard to explain what makes something “gay,” but usually people have a gay-dar: not for people who are gay, but for events and situations that can be described as gay.
For example, look at this story coming out of Sydney, Australia that says people dressed as Santa Claus can’t say “ho ho ho” because it’s offensive to women:

That is definitely gay.
In that context, “gay” simply means “overly politically correct” and “hypersensitive.” Among people I know, someone who overreacts to losing a game would be met with requests of “don’t be gay” or “stop being gay.” “One who overreacts” or “to overreact” is now one definition of the word “gay.”
How about the global warming diet, which is built around eating foods that are good for the environment?
That’s double gay.
I like this word. Let’s steal it back from the gays, since it used to be ours anyway. I think half of most “gay” people are just gay so that they can go around saying “Hey - I’m gay.” In fact, try to say that aloud right now without laughing. The more serious, self-righteous, and indignant tone you try to use, the funnier it sounds.
“Gay” isn’t a slur, though. That’s because people who are gay call themselves that. If they say they have no choice in being gay - that’s fine. You can call me “white” even though I had no choice over that: and that’s why “white” isn’t a slur, either.
After all, when people dance poorly, they’re dancing “like a white guy.” Even other white guys will say that - ABOUT A WHITE GUY. It’s just another way of saying “you dance poorly.” And I’m fine with that.
That’s why the word “gay” shouldn’t offend the actual gays when we normies use it to describe something that has a negative meaning for us. After all, the word “dumb” comes from people who are ACTUALLY dumb - “blind, deaf, and dumb.” I’m sure plenty of gay people use “dumb” to describe things they don’t like, even though dumb people can’t help they were born that way.
Plus, if you overreact to something that dumb, you’re just being gay.
