Environmentalists whine about carbon emissions and global warming and seem to totally forget that we already have a source of energy available to us that is way cleaner and way safer than burning fossil fuels.
Nuclear energy is one of those things closed-minded hippies* fear just because it’s new and different.  For consistency’s sake, if you believe in man-caused global warming, you should be in favor of nuclear energy.  But you don’t hear liberals clamoring for it, because they’d rather use global warming as a political mantra to grow a bigger …

A small “rant” in the Chicago Sun-Times says that in “A Christmas Carol,” Ebenezer Scrooge goes from “traditional, conservative Republican” to “bleeding-heart liberal.”  The rant doesn’t seem to say that this is a good thing – but is it even true?
For a lot of people, it probably is.  But the stereotypical view of Republicans as cold-hearted Mr. Burnses couldn’t be more wrong.
Too many liberals equate governmental redistribution of wealth with actual charity.  The difference is that charity is when you give something that belonged to you.  Governmental distribution of wealth …

The Copernican Principle said that even if the odds of there being life on other planets are small, the sheer amount of stars, planets, and galaxies is more than enough to compensate for it.
For example, according to this principle, even if just .01% of the stars out there host life, that still means there are billions …

A high school student in California is generating a lot of buzz for suing his teacher for doing what teachers do. That is to say, abusing the subjective nature of their job by indoctrinating kids with insane opinions.
The kid was smart and got the teacher on tape recorder. What did the teacher say?
Some of the comments by his teacher, James Corbett, included, “When you put on your Jesus glasses, you can’t see the truth” and “Conservatives don’t want women to avoid pregnancies – that’s interfering with God’s work.” …

I won’t comment much on this, because it speaks for itself. Yay no taxes!
Video: Shepherd Smith goes nuts about the proposed tax on soda out in San Francisco.

2008 Presidential Election »

[17 Dec 2007 | No Comment | ]

A little while ago I wrote a post about potential Presidential matchups. Now, I’m announcing my official pre-Iowa prediction: Barack Obama and Mitt Romney will get the nominations.
What makes me say this?
Mitt Romney:
Romney has had a solid base in Iowa for a long time, since he’s probably the most avid campaigner there. Even when Huckabee overtook him and challenged his Iowa lead, Romney was the only one who could still compete for the top spot.
If Huckabee wins Iowa, it’s with Romney as number two, which won’t kill …

Ever notice that a lot of non-Christians celebrate Christmas?
It’s officially Christmas season now, so of course you’ve probably already been inundated with commercials, non-stop Christmas music radio, early-bird Christmas cards, and holiday decorations. Still, through the shuffle of our busy lives, these facts don’t change that Christmas is a Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Christ.
Yet atheists* often insist on celebrating it along with the rest of us. For example, take Richard Dawkins, a famous atheist (especially if you’ve seen “South Park”), who said “I like singing carols …
