Just How Smooth is Obama Anyway?

McCain constantly talks about Obama being “style over substance.” After all, Obama’s experience is as thin as it gets for Presidential candidates - in January 1st, 2005, he was still just a state legislator in Illinois. So how else to explain his rapid rise to prominence? His style, right?

Well, maybe not. The King of the Land of Uh has demonstrated unsmoothness many times already:

  • He once said, “On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes — and I see many of them in the audience here today — our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.”
  • Visiting “57″ states. To those of you who used publik edyoo-kayshun, there are 50 states.
  • In Sunrise, Florida: “It’s good to be in Sunshine!”
  • In Sioux Falls, South Dakota: “Thank you Sioux City…I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.”
  • Attributed falling behind in Kentucky to Hillary being from the nearby state of Arkansas. But, of course, Obama is from Illinois.
  • He said, via Michelle Malkin: “Here’s something that you will rarely hear from a politician, and that is that I’m not familiar with the Hanford, uuuuhh, site, so I don’t know exactly what’s going on there. (Applause.) Now, having said that, I promise you I’ll learn about it by the time I leave here on the ride back to the airport.” But, of course, he had already voted on a bill that included it.

And, of course, there’s this:

Hey, to be fair, we all make mistakes, and McCain isn’t mister High-Energy. But no one thinks McCain is The One of Whom the Prophecies Fortold, either.
