Local Chicks Complain About McCain’s Attitude Toward Women

These are two of your prominent Wisconsin female politicians: holding up condoms during speeches and claiming John McCain is sexist because he said his wife could win a beauty contest.

While Republican John McCain is sending overtures to pro-Hillary Rodham Clinton women who haven’t gotten over her defeat for the Democratic nomination, Lt. Gov. Barb Lawton on Tuesday accused McCain of exhibiting a “fundamental disrespect toward women” in his campaign.

Lawton was referring to McCain’s quip at a motorcycle rally in Sturgis, S.D., earlier this month that he had encouraged his wife, Cindy, to enter the rally’s beauty contest, a rowdy event featuring scantily clad women.

“I told her with a little luck that she could be the only woman ever to serve as both the first lady and Miss Buffalo Chip,” McCain said.

Barb Lawton could very well be the next governor of Wisconsin, given her status as understudy to the loyal Obama footsoldier Jim Doyle. This is a scary concept. I don’t want a female governor who can’t get past the feminist concept that any reference to a woman’s attractiveness - even a favorable reference to your own wife - is a bad thing. These Dems claim that Obama is “post-racial;” how about some “post-feminists”?

As if she wasn’t embarrassing enough, we have U.S. Representative Gwen Moore.

Moore declared that if McCain is elected, “no one is going to suffer more than women.”

Drawing hoots from the crowd, she pulled out a stack of condoms and said: “I had my friends from Planned Parenthood give me a bunch of condoms because I feel I need to protect myself from John McCain as a woman.”

Anyone who uses the phrase “my friends from Planned Parenthood” is not starting off a sentence well. Leave it to female Democrats to turn condoms into rallying flags in order to illicit cheap woos from an equally misguided crowd.

Apparently the irony of decrying McCain for demeaning women and holding up a giant stack of condoms is lost on Gwen Moore. Besides, Moore, I think you’re safe: McCain has Miss Buffalo Chip waiting for him at home.
