Will it be Romney?

Drudge says McCain has picked a running mate. It’s just a matter of time before we hear it - as McCain won’t make the obvious “bleep you” move of announcing it today and stealing some of Barack Obama’s thunder.

Will it be Romney? I’ve been rooting for it ever since he suspended his campaign and endorsed McCain. He did it at CPAC - and conservatives were understandably disappointed when he bowed out.

Now, it looks like he’s considered the favorite to be McCain’s VP (above the likes of Pawlenty, Huckabee, and Lieberman). He’ll attract the conservative base. I can only imagine he’ll make McCain look more conservative because McCain picked him.

It could also be Bobby Jindal, who has adamantly denied it and has just been a governor for about half a year now. I want Jindal to run as Presidential candidate in ‘12 or ‘16 - depending on the circumstances, I suppose - but he would have to be my second favorite for this job.

But I wouldn’t be surprised to see McCain go the moderate, uninteresting route. Of all the favorites, Pawlenty would be the best non-exciting choice.

Can’t you see McCain picking someone out of left field - someone with questionable conservative values? It would just be so…McCain of him.

By the way, can’t you already see a Romney vs. Biden vice presidential debate?  Imagine how heated those could get!
