The Biden and Palin Debate

3 October 2008 No Comment

It’s a strong indication that Sarah Palin won last night’s debate when you flip between Fox News and MSNBC and, for better or worse, both networks were talking about her.

MSNBC?  Calling her a dolt for looking into the camera.

You know what I think of people when they come on “Hardball,” and they look at the camera, I think they’re dolts.

(Of course, Biden started looking more into the camera as the night went on, and Obama looked into it frequently the other night.)

Fox News?  They cut to a Focus Group that seemed to favor Palin as the winner of the debate.  Plus I’m pretty sure no one called Biden a dolt.

This much is clear:  by hanging tough with a 30-something-year veteran of Washington, Palin came across as confident and legitimate.  And people probably tuned in because of her, too.  The debate looks like it carried something like 30% more the ratings of last week’s Presidential debate.  Think that’s the Biden effect?
