At the Democratic National Convention earlier this year, when Barack Obama accepted the Dem nomination for President, he said he would recruit an army of teachers, presumably feeding the machine that is already Big Education.

Yet when it came time to pick a new school for his Washington-bound daughter duo, the choice was clear.

So B. Hussein and Michelle chose the private Sidwell Friends School in the Columbian District, where tuition is $29,000 a year. Hey, when it comes to education, you get what you pay for. Isn’t that right, free public schools?

It’s funny how Obama supports the “army” of publik edyoo-kayshun teachers except when it comes to his own kids. Wouldn’t that be like the CEO of Pepsi being seen with a bottle of Coke Zero? Hey, he loves Pepsi, except for when it comes to what he likes to drink.

Oh, Dan, you’ve already got Obama Derangement Syndrome; any mis-step he makes, you’ll be all over it, just like liberals with Bush. Maybe, but the difference is I didn’t really like Bush either, the guy who says he’s free market except when there’s a crisis. His best legacy, perhaps, can be found here and here.

Plus, I just like being a thorn in the side of Big Education. Especially when so many public school teachers – who knows how many, really – probably voted for Obama.

And I can already hear the rationalizations. Well, he has the means, and public schools could do that if they had more money. Whatever. Anyone who knows money knows throwing money at problems isn’t a cure-all.
