An Open Letter to Minnesota

6 January 2009 No Comment

Dear Minnesota,

I’ve got a bone to pick with you.

No one said anything when you elected a pro wrestler to be your governor.  We just sort of thought to ourselves “oh, crazy old Minnesota – they’ll just have to learn their lesson the hard way.”  After all, if it was a one-time thing, it could have been a fluke.

But now, what can I say?  You’ve elected Stuart Smalley to the U.S. Senate.  The highest legislative body in the land.

What’s wrong with you?

The election results aren’t necessarily final yet, but that this race was close enough for Franken to even challenge the outcome is a disgrace.

You should not only embarassed, you should apologize on behalf of your state.  I’m listening.

For you liberals who think Franken is qualified because he agrees with you, I ask you this:  How would you feel if Ann Coulter was elected to the Senate?

You would think it’s a complete joke.  And what Minnesota has done is also a complete joke.  I’m embarassed to live in the state that neighbors you, Minnesota, and I’m embarassed that my Chicago Bears are in the same division as your directionless team.
