Wisconsin’s own Paul Ryan is hailed as a rising star of the GOP, regularly featured on national outlets like Fox News. Michelle Malkin, however, highlights Paul Ryan’s questionable voting record.

With today being National Tax Day Tea Party, this seems an especially good time to question those who would try to lead conservatism. As a Wisconsin reader of Malkin’s wrote in, Paul Ryan is scheduled to speak at the Madison tea party – even though he voted for TARP, the auto bailout, and the 90 tax of the AIG bonuses.

Aren’t high taxes and spending the exact things people will be protesting?

We already have more than enough liberals telling us “But…but…Bush did it!” as if we somehow own everything Bush ever did. We don’t need our rising stars to vote for big government spending too.

But I’m willing to give Ryan the benefit of the doubt. If he admits he was wrong and starts to vote along the lines of my representative in Congress, F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. then maybe he can win back my support. As of right now, I’m giving Paul Ryan the squinty eyes of suspicion.
