Note: I think it would just be plain wrong to write about a trivial issue like this without mentioning the Haiti earthquake yet. So I’d like to recommend you donate to Catholic Relief Services.
Now, to the post:
“No matter how I look at this I am in the wrong. And I’ve looked at this thing, like, a hundred different ways. From my point of view, from their point of view … 98 others … and bottom line, I’m in the wrong. I’m the bad guy.”

BPN Elder Statesman TalonJohn brought up Michael Moore’s most recent movie, titled Capitalism: A Love Story.
With Moore going around and saying that capitalism is legalized greed, and that capitalism did nothing for him, I want to clear things up for the politically uninitiated of my readers who aren’t sure how to feel.
First, Capitalism Ain’t Really a “System”
“Capitalism,” according to Wikipedia, is this:
Capitalism typically refers to an economic and social system in which the means of production (also known as capital) are privately controlled
But looking at capitalism as a “system” …

I was watching “The Jay Leno Show” last night (by the way, it got strong ratings), and subsequently witnessed Kanye West bring down the mood by apparently apologizing for the third time.
No, not for his haircut. He was apologizing because he took a microphone away from 19-year-old Taylor Swift so that he could say that Beyonce deserved to win the award for her video instead.
This kind of behavior isn’t unusual from West if you’ve seen the “Fishsticks” episode of South Park. West also has a history of making people feel …

Updating the annual tradition of trying to predict the Oscar winners. Last year, I did great with the big categories – I nailed Picture, Director, Actor, Actress (I think, I’m too lazy to look it up), Supporting Actor, Original/Adapted Screenplay (again, I think, too lazy).
Well the Oscars are back, and once again I haven’t seen most of the movies to come out – though I’m more interested in doing that this year as opposed to last year. I should add that I get a lot of help from …

No Oscar nomination for Best Picture for The Dark Knight.
Robert Downey, Jr. gets nominated for best supporting actor for Tropic Thunder. Oh, we’re nominating comedy performances now? Someone tell Jim Carrey.
The Oscars are so dumb.

I know Tom Hanks is a left-leaning celebrity, much like most of the celebrities we hear about, but it’s actually kind of unusual to hear him chime in on these sorts of matters.
This time, they’re the matters of the homosexual sort, as Hanks recently used the phrase “un-American” in regards to some of the opponents of Proposition Gr8 in California.
Apparently conservatives aren’t the only ones to toss the Unpatriotic/UnAmerican labels around. Here’s what Hanks had to say:
“The truth is this takes place in Utah, the truth is these people are …

With all of the hibbity goo about “equal rights” for homosexuals these days, let’s take a look at one gay man’s definition of equal rights:
Getting eHarmony.com to offer same-sex dating.
Coming soon to EHarmony — Adam and Steve.
The Pasadena-based dating website, heavily promoted by Christian evangelical leaders when it was founded, has agreed in a civil rights settlement to give up its heterosexuals-only policy and offer same-sex matches.
EHarmony was started by psychologist Neil Clark Warren, who is known for his mild-mannered television and radio advertisements. It must not only implement the …

Y’all know that, like any other reasonable and logical person, I’m a Star Trek fan, right? Well, an interesting thing is happening to the franchise – it’s getting a re-boot, modern-day Batman style.
Daily Mail sez:
The eagerly anticipated Star Trek film is set to cast off the geeky associations of the sci-fi genre with a handsome cast, vicious fights and sex scenes.
A trailer for the new movie was released online on Monday, no doubt fuelling the excitement of Trekkies around the world ahead of the film’s release next year.
The fast-paced …

If you’ve ever seen “The View” in its current state, you know the cast of characters: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherry Shepherd, and the token conservative, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. They lead off every show with “Hot Topics,” always an entertaining thing to watch because you never know when conversations can go from casual to nasty YouTube fodder.
The different range of opinions and how the show usually runs made me think of how these ladies would treat Winston Churchill if he was a guest circa 1940. Here’s my guess:
[Shot …

Here’s the new trailer for Oliver Stone’s movie, “W.”:
Looks pretty lame to me. It’s already common knowledge that Bush used to be a BlackSheep/BadBoy partier – big deal, old news, he’s almost not the President anymore. Besides, isn’t Bill Clinton’s life in the White House even more saucy than that?
I’ll admit, I’d see this if all I had to do was switch to On-demand, but I probably won’t see it in the theatre or bother trying to go rent it when it comes out on …
