It’s been a good four years or so since I started BipolarNation.com, which means this blog has been with me for the same approximate amount of time I was in college. I can still remember checking the web site statistics in the school computer labs, hoping to see the advertising money roll in.

This last week was BipolarNation.com’s birthday (I think March 16th or 17th), and I know because I have the credit card bill to prove it.

Just a quick update: I added a contact form to BPN. I don’t know why I never really though enough of it to add one, but now people who just came to the site have an easy way of contacting me.

When I was in college, I remember a depressing theme coming up in one class. Granted, I majored in Writing – in literature classes, they tackle a lot of depressing themes, but I remember this one especially: Is the American Dream dead?
The answer to that question is simple: no. And no. And no and no and no.
Why am I bringing this up? For one, it’s good to remind readers of the pick-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps attitude that seems to be overshadowed by gloomy economic news these days. …

I’m going to be on vacation all next week, so you won’t hear from me the whole time.  Luckly, my buddy and co-author Aaron Robertson has pledged that he’ll carry some of the posting load.

Last year at this time, we celebrated the first birthday of the young BipolarNation.  Today is not only St. Patrick’s Day, but BipolarNation’s second birthday, the domain having been registered by me on March 17th, 2006.
I won’t go into the detail I did last year, but here are some highlights of the past 12 months on BPN.

Through advertisements, BPN started paying for itself, and even bought me a nice set of groceries back in July.

I’ve disabled the comments for blog posts at BipolarNation.com.  I did it for two reasons:

I have comments set to “moderate” so that I don’t get spammed.  This means I have to delete tons of spam comments.  The most recent batch included about 200 spam comments – needless to say, it was not fun.
I post most of my blog articles at the BipolarNation.com Political Forums already – if you want to join the discussion there, I’m all for it.  Just sign up to Bipolarnation using a non-spam e-mail like gmail or …
